Business Development Trainee

We have an excellent opportunity for graduates of a Life Science degree (minimum 2:2) to join our commercial team. This is an opportunity for those wanting to apply their scientific knowledge to the business environment within an office-based role.

Ideally you will have previous experience in sales or customer service and you will be able to apply this knowledge to the management of customer accounts. Alongside this, you will be motivated and pro-active in your approach to work in order to drive business through building new supply chains and researching novel intermediates. You will be confident in your ability to build and maintain customer relationships and in turn you will have the opportunity to market the Company in an international arena.

Key Responsibilities of our Business Development Specialists:

  •          Managing customer accounts, building on existing business and providing a quality service
  •          Pro-actively contacting leads and identifying new customers and dormant accounts
  •          Visiting customers to identify needs and attending exhibitions and conferences to increase Company profile.
  •          Processing customer enquiries and sales orders
  •          Reviewing quotes and analysing sales

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  •          Biochemistry or Biomedical Science degree (min 2:2) or equivalent, with good knowledge of biological lab     procedures
  •          Flexibility to work individually and as part of a team
  •          Professionalism and the ability to network
  •          Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  •          Ability to deal with customer’s problems in an efficient and professional manner.
