We are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Manager to lead our team of 17 staff in Denton.

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the day to day running of the warehouse department to achieve all productivity targets and KPI’s whilst ensuring all department operations are completed to the company standards.
  • Identifying areas to enhance efficiency in warehouse through improvements to processes and resources.
  • Create / maintain an engaged workforce through high levels of communication and motivation whilst promoting the company goals, values and standards.
  • Oversee and monitor all employee training & performance of duties ensuring adherence to the company policies and procedures on a daily basis and through work in progress and appraisal reviews.
  • Manage the department overheads & budgets making suggestions on investment opportunities, costs savings and budget planning including capex. 
  • Liaise with suppliers and transport companies to ensure best prices & level of service.
  • Share responsible for opening / closing the Denton site each day as key holder and for out of hour’s emergency response.
  • Ensure the department policies and procedures is reviewed every two years and updated to reflect changes in business needs (considering relevant departments).
  • Identify, implement and achieve department goals where appropriate. Sharing information across department, management team and chief officers through reports and the delivery of Powerpoint presentations.
  • Contribute to business plans/strategies for Company growth and contribute to the CG group companies’ plans through discussions and reporting in manager meeting.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Management System (ISO9001) which contains all departmental procedures and SOP’s and all other standard company rules and regulation including the Environmental Policy. Ensuring all activities in department are carried out in accordance with the H&S policy.

Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Qualifications: Level 5 – Warehouse Operations Management or equivalent.
  • Experience - A minimum of 3 years’ managing a warehouse department
  • IT Skills - Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strategic & Forward Thinking – Identify areas for development and anticipate potential issues to implement action plans.
  • Presentation - Being able to deliver an effective presentation, considering the audience's needs in order to capture their interest, develop their understanding and inspire their confidence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Chemical Handling with FLT license, IATA DG, ADR DG qualifications.
  • Working knowledge of SAP B1, Athena & ExEss software packages.

Package offered:

  • Hours- 37½ hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:00pm with ½hour lunch break).
  • Salary- Negotiable (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Bonus- Company performance related paid twice a year.
  • Pension- Group personal pension (company contribution of 7.5%, employees 5%).
  • Holidays- 24 days per year plus bank holidays.

Other requirements:

  • The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK.
  • Complete our pre-employment security checks on receipt of offer.

Interview Process:

All candidates are required to provide a PowerPoint presentation at interview lasting 20-30 minutes on their experience in a similar role and how to lead and motivate employees whilst develop warehouse operations systems of product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
